Administrative / biographical background:

Opened in 1848 at Mill Street by the Wesleyan Methodists. Closed in 1967, and subsequently demolished. The Day Schools associated with the chapel were built in 1862 and were discontinued in 1969, though the premises remained in use as an annexe to Crewe, Edleston Road County Junior School.
